What to do in Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage?[]
If you are new to the game and/or feel lost on how to proceed, this is the right place to look. Our wiki can help you through your newbie experience and support your choices.
- First of all, NxB NV is a grindy game by nature. If you find yourself struggling in the early stages of gameplay, don't worry, it's completely normal
- You should also know that the game rewards more the experienced players (many Shinobi kits, Ninja Tools, high stats in general), so not being able to compete in a lot of the current events or situations is also normal.
To start things off, follow the tutorial carefully. It will teach you the basics of the game, and those don't change very often! Everything is always valid, so try to understand carefully and follow what Gamamichi will tell you.
Core gameplay and introduction[]
The whole game experience (both advanced and not) can be divided into 3 main aspects:
- Summoning
- Shinobi
- Missions
Summoning[]
NxB NV is a gacha game, which means it is based on "gambling" your resources (Shinobite and/or real money) to try to get rewards (Ninja Cards and more). Ninja Cards are the main focus to make a Shinobi usable in game - for more details on Ninja Cards go here - and they are obtainable from summoning (Home > Summon).
Usually, every 10-15 days a new summon banner is released, which features either a new unit or an already existing one that is getting a new Jutsu set ("kit"):
- In the first case, the unit is getting 4 new Ninja Cards - 1 EX Ultimate, 1 Limit Break Jutsu, 1 Ninja Bond Jutsu, 1 Follow-Up Jutsu
- In the second case, the new Jutsu set is called a "re-kit", and it consists of 3 new Ninja Cards - 1 EX Ultimate, 1 Limit Break Jutsu, 1 Jutsu (often a Ninja Bond)
One scenario happening instead of the other one is not very relevant, it is important though to understand what is a good kit and what is not.
Unless you are a fan of specific troops or characters, and want to have fun with them in the game, the best advice would be to ask around (we have a Reddit community and a Discord community) and/or search for Attack Mission Showcase videos on YouTube, to see if the new banner is worth pulling on or not, and therefore to save Shinobite and resources for the next coming Shinobi/banner.
In general, you can also wait for our Tierlist to get updated and decide if you want to summon based on the ranking of the new featured shinobi in the list.
Shinobi[]
Once you summoned on a banner, you obtain Ninja Cards (and oftentimes various other items as Summon rewards), which can be used on your Shinobi.
There are currently 131 different Shinobi in the game, and all of them have different Awakening levels, abilities, Ninjutsu and Link Boards. You can access the Shinobi screen via Home > Shinobi > Shinobi List.
When the tutorial is done, you will be able to acquire new Shinobi (you will be given 70 hero fragments of each via your Present Box). To do that, go to Home > Shinobi > Obtain Shinobi.
Awakening Levels[]
There are 8 different Awakening levels (1★ up to 8★), and currently not all of them are available for any given shinobi. To upgrade the Awakening level of a Shinobi you will need Hero Fragments (up to the 6★ rarity), Hero Gems
(for the 7★ rarity) and Hero Memories
(for the 8★ rarity).
Once you have unlocked the Shinobi you want, your objective now would be to bring it to its best version possible and therefore as strong as possible. There are 2 main objectives you should aim for when choosing how to upgrade your Shinobi:
- Attack Main
- Fortress Defender
Both are equally important, but different in terms of building, resources and commitment. In general, it is better to focus on a single character at a time for both objectives. For newbies, the most important thing is to have a good attack main to overcome various missions and Attack Mission (AM).
Your Attack Main is going to help you in your first steps to acquiring new equipment, unlocking certain aspects of the game, and reaching new milestones. Choose wisely what Shinobi to start spending your resources on.
Anyhow, your choice will not be permanent in any way, and you can always decide to change your focus in any moment.
When starting, you will have the opportunity to choose 1 shinobi to get the Ninja Cards of, and therefore help you in the very very early stages of the game.
Keep in mind these are really outdated moves, and we do not recommend spending any resource on them at all since after the tutorial and the first few missions, you will struggle to continue. However, since the choice is forced on you, we do recomment getting Tsunade (Great Ninja War)'s cards from there. This is because her Ninjutsu "100 Healings: Fierce Impact" has invincibility and good team effects such as HP and CP recovery, status ailment removal and Movement Speed buff.
